Dr. Tkac’s journey into veterinary medicine began long before Bridge Park. He was raised by a single mother who worked multiple jobs to support them. Watching her perseverance shaped him at a young age. He learned resilience, dedication, and independence, values that still guide him today.
When he went to the University of Georgia, Dr. Tkac began working on a pig farm and gradually surrounded himself with all types of farm animals. What started as a job turned into something deeply enjoyable. Through those experiences, he began to imagine a future in animal care. His original plan had been to pursue plastic surgery, but over time he realized veterinary medicine was his true calling. He was drawn to the constant challenge of the field. Each day demands that a veterinarian possess comprehensive expertise in pathology, anatomy, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and specialized whole-body care. The idea that every day would bring a new problem to solve and a new opportunity to help an animal excited him and confirmed he had found the right path.
Years later, that calling became Bridge Park.
Dr. Tkac’s wife, Andrea, brings a background in practice management consulting, allowing their shared vision to grow into more than just a clinic. Together they built a practice rooted in service, excellence, and heart. When Bridge Park first opened, life presented unexpected challenges. Their daughter was born very premature, and during that season Dr. Tkac worked long hours at the clinic, then went straight to the hospital to be by her side, returning again to work, doing whatever was necessary to support both his family and the practice they believed in.
Those early days shaped the foundation of who they are today. They strengthened their gratitude, resilience, and appreciation for the community around them.
Bridge Park is more than a veterinary practice. It is a reflection of a family’s journey. Dr. Tkac and Andrea are deeply thankful for the clients who trust them and for every animal they are honored to care for. The relationships built here and the goodness this work brings into their lives is something they never take for granted.
